Lincolnisms VII

Whispered under the guise of 'Agent Chips' ...? ... "I miss you potatoes."

Between running laps in the house, "My farts make me run faster!!"
Boys are gross.

I forget what he was asking me to guess, but it was something that was either obvious or something that I already knew. "Yes, indeed!" with a proud face.

"Mom, I totally don't have a sister."

I turned on the tub after dinner, L runs into the bathroom. "Mom, that's music to my ears!"

"Mushroom cereal. Cereal from Heaven."
Marshmallow cereal. Marshmallow Mateys.

Dead Post #1: PB

This isn't interesting, maybe its quirky?

Every time I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I have to spread peanut butter on the left slice. I cannot spread peanut butter on the right slice. CAN NOT.

Also,

PB for life.

Even if your pb throws this at you...

LIZpod

I used my iPod for a road trip last weekend. The first time in about a year+. And as we had it on shuffle, a few (maybe more than a few) songs came on that I had to remind myself who the artist was. And I am ashamed to say that there is at least one band that I forgot existed...

The Used

Please forgive me.

Also, remember this?

I have since repented.
Kelly, please forgive me too.

Easter Confession

Every time I have to boil eggs (at most twice a year) I have to google how to boil eggs.

Like this week for Easter eggs.

And the worst part? I don't know yet if the eggs I made this week are all the way boiled. They may be soft boiled. How this happened? We may never know.

But, we dyed eggs!

And E. Bunny came to visit.

But best of all, HE IS RISEN!

My Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies

I. LOVE. Cookies
I thought I found this recipe on Pinterest, but now I can't find it. I'll keep looking.
I was asked to make someone else's recipe for a funeral recently, wasn't a fan, and had to make these right after. Enjoy.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup Butter, softened
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Brown Sugar, packed
- 2 Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 3 cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 2 teaspoons Hot Water
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 cups Chocolate Chips

- Cream together butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs, then stir in vanilla.
- Dissolve baking soda in hot water (I just put them into my mixer on top of each other, ain't nobody got time for that!), add to batter. Then salt.
- Stir in flour and then chocolate chips.
- Shape into balls, place onto greased cookie sheets (I usually make them really small so I can make a ton at a time and when I eat 12 of them I don't have to feel quite as bad.)
- Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

The best.

Dead Posts

I have at least 3 or 4 blog post ideas that have been sitting in the notes on my phone for who knows how long. They seemed like brilliant ideas at the time, but then I forgot about them and when I got back to them, I just wasn't as committed.
Maybe I should post them any way.
We shall see.

Lincolnisms VI

I forget what was happening, but he was still in a diaper at this point, "I think I just peed a little." and then laughed.

"I think the mommy horsey is called a lamb, and the daddy horsey is call day blah blah, and the Michael (my brother, currently living with us) horsey is called a piggy, but where is the Lincoln horsey and the baby horsey?" (there is always a mommy and daddy and Lincoln and baby of whatever he sees or is playing with.)

"My church is open all day long like a bird flying over our car."
.....?

L: "Mommy! I want a Barbie daddy!"
Me: "A daddy Barbie?"
L: "Yes!!"

Matt: "We've got to go home."
L: "We could go to the market or the coffee place (?) or sumthin."
M: "Lincoln, no one calls it the market anymore."
L: "Well, the little piggy went to the market."
L: 1  M: 0
(He says well a lot. We love it.)

L: "Mommy, I have to grow up." (pretty out of the blue)
Me: "NO!"
L: "Please mommy, will you just let me grow up?"
Me: "I guess. But I'll be sad about it."
L: "OK!"

Grabs the bag of chips off the counter, rips off the clip, "You can't hide from me you silly chips!"

L: "Mom, guess what I dude."
Me: "What did you say?"
L: "Guess what I dood."
Me: "Did?"
L: "Yeah."

"Its a giant SPOTOPUS!"
